Take-off into the clouds: Multi-cloud IT infrastructure strategy for Lufthansa Systems.
“Helping airlines to position themselves in the best possible way for the digital future is a core element of our company strategy,” says Lufthansa Systems, an IT service company catering to the aviation industry which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. In order to help the company fulfil this clearly defined strategy, e&Co. consultants worked with Lufthansa Systems to create and implement a concept for a global aviation cloud. e&Co. consultant and project leader Tim Ehrich and the Lufthansa Systems team compiled a new, future-proof IT infrastructure strategy which will allow growth in all world regions and secure competitive advantages using a flexible approach. “Naturally, the current implementation phase of the global multi-cloud environment is centred around technological aspects of the infrastructure-as-a-service concept; but in order for this model to truly unleash its full potential, the accompanying change programme for operational processes is of equal importance. We take these aspects into account as part of our overall cloud transformation services,” explains e&Co. Cloud expert Tim Ehrich. Wolfgang Wintermeyer, Head of Provider Management at Lufthansa Systems, is very happy with project progress to date: “The e&Co. consultants excel in their sound and broad approach to the issues involved. They have produced an outstanding end-to-end cloud concept and are now helping us to master the most important challenges in implementing it within a complex project environment.”
